On June 18th, the Pacifica Police Department hosted the very first Kops & Kids event. Many departments across the US are already conducting these very successful events. The events are meant to bring law enforcement and the community together and get to know each other and educate the community on what they do. This first time event was a huge success and the Pacifica Chamber participated and witnessed first hand.

City and County emergency services attended and included not only the Pacifica Police and Fire Departments but departments from Colma & Daly City along with a county emergency helipcopter. the San Mateo College Police Cadets came out in full force with an impressive appearance. The kids enjoyed jumpees and a huge slide. The The Surf Spot had BBQ fixins on hand for those that had appetites to satisfy AND the Sea Bowl Entertainment Center had free bowling for the kids. Forensics had kids learning how to do finger printing and police dogs showed off their skills led by their trainers. The folks from Home Depot set up wood projects with all the tools needed to create their projects plus little aprons to take home. The chamber gave away sunglasses, mini toy cars and collectible cards old and new police vehicles of all variety were on display and the Pacifica Lions Club conducted the latest in eye testing.

A good time was had by all and we can't wait for the next Kops & Kida. Visit our Facebook page to view more fun photos from this event: Chamber Facebook
