Another fun & festive tree lighting festival took place on Sun. Dec. 8th along Dondee Way in Rockaway Beach. Holiday cheer filled the air as the 4 o'clock time approached to officially start the festival. Santa arrived on his antique firetruck at 5pm escorted by the Pacifica Fire Department. Then he hopped off and greeted the kids as they watched in awe. Santa stayed to listen to all their holiday wishes. Live music filled the air with High & Lon´some, the Phenix Opera Co and performances delighted the audience from the Seaside Carolers, Just Dance, the Seaside Discovery Playschool and the Spindrift of School of Performing Arts. The food trucks were a hit as well as the Cat of a Different Color, our wandering characters, free cable car & pony rides, slim booth, plate decorating, petting zoo, snow flurries and the various vendors & arts/craft stations the the kids couldn't get enough of. The Pacifica Resource Center collected donations & offered info and the City of Pacifica was in attendance along with several city council members. The holiday tree was lit a little after 6pm BUT, it got done and did not disappoint! Thanks to our sponsors, volunteers, merchants, Chamber staff and city staff for helping make this special event a success. We are grateful we can bring this to the kids and gather as a community for some holiday cheer. Happy Holidays everyone and thank you for coming out! See you all next year!
