The doors to Camelot Fish & Chips opened in 1969 by Sidney Wheatley. On Saturday, September 7, the Wheatley family celebrated a milestone anniversary as Camelot Fish & Chips turned 50 years. Now in its 3rd generation, this family-owned business is now run by Sidney's daughter Karen Wheatley along with her daughter Kasey. Also in attendance were Karen's mother & daughter Katie.

A huge banner proudly hung outside so all passing by could hear the news. To bring more attention to the grand celebration a character of the Beatles made an appearance, John Lennon dressed up in his Yellow Submarine attire.

Fish & chips were discounted, along with drinks until 3pm and each customer received a raffle ticket to spin for free prizes. Family, friends, community, Chamber board of directors and Mayor Sue Vaterluas were on hand to acknowledge this great accomplishment.

Congratulations Camelot Fish & Chips and here's to another 50 years. Visit Camelot Fish & Chips at 70 West Manor Drive in the Pacific Manor district. Follow them on Facebook and Instagram. Visit their website at
